The University of the Sunshine Coast is one of the fastest growing universities in Australia and has become an influential member of the Sunshine Coast’s business community. It is the first public university to be established on a Greenfield site in Australia for 23 years. Sunshine Coast University College was founded in 1994 and opened in 1996. The Sunshine Coast University College was granted full university status in 1999 and changed its name to University of the Sunshine Coast. The University has three academic faculties: Arts and Social Sciences; Business; and Science, Health and Education. Here you will find information on each faculty’s courses, research activities, staff and community involvement. Hundreds of courses (subjects) and the flexibility to study across three faculties mean you can customize your degree program to suit your interests and abilities. International Students: Students come from around the world to study at the University of the Sunshine Coast. You can learn English, take University courses for credit towards your home degree, complete a Bachelor degree or pursue postgraduate studies. Whichever you choose, a memorable experience waits.

English Language Center: You can choose from a variety of English language programs to suit your academic and personal requirements:

- Direct Entry English Pathway (DEEP) is a full-time English language program (25 hours per week) for international students who wish to undertake further studies at the University of the Sunshine Coast.

- The Academic English – Intermediate program is excellent preparation for further studies, including TAFE and diploma level courses. This 10 week program articulates into the Academic English – Upper Intermediate program (for IELTS and Direct University of the Sunshine Coast Entry).

- The Cambridge Exam Preparation program provides excellent English language preparation for: First Certificate in English (FCE) ;Certificate in Advanced English (CAE) and Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE).This full-time (25 hours per week) program includes: pre-entry test to assess exam suitability ;English skills and strategies required for each Certificate Level Test ;textbook-based course and some experiential opportunities ;two practise tests with assessment items similar to those encountered within the Cambridge Exam.

- General English is offered at a level to suit you – from elementary to advanced and is a good starting point for your language studies.
